Free Service: Available to all businesses and nonprofits with active City of Tuscaloosa water and garbage accounts.
Paid Service: Available to businesses and nonprofits who DO NOT receive City of Tuscaloosa water and garbage service, but wish to establish a recycling account for a monthly fee (non-residential garbage fee)
NON-RESIDENTIAL CURBSIDE RECYCLING APPLICATION
Now, all businesses and nonprofits have the opportunity to recycle the same plastics, metals and paper products accepted on residential routes and in drop-off trailers (except glass and electronics - which remains drop off only)
Customers will receive a 96-gallon City recycling cart. If the customer decides to no longer participate in the service, the cart must be returned to the City.
Customers will be required to sort all materials and must put plastics and metals inside a plastic or paper bag before placing the items in the recycling cart, and kept separate from paper. Cardboard must be emptied, flattened and placed at the curb next to the recycling cart. If volume of recycling is higher than expected, a second cart can be requested at no cost. For more information about the recycling service, call Tuscaloosa 311 at 205-248-5311.
If you would like to participate in the curbside cardboard recycling collection program, email the application to ESD. Our office will review the application and make contact to establish the service/account.
