September 10, 2025
At the City Council meeting on September 9, the Council voted to pass a partnership agreement ensuring that Kentuck Festival of the Arts will call Tuscaloosa home for the next 15 years.
“Having such a culturally renowned event in our City is a great source of pride for me and for our community. By committing to this 15-year partnership, we are investing in our future generations,” said Mayor Walt Maddox.
Kentuck has been a nationally recognized, premier annual arts festival since 1971, attracting guests from across the country. Last year’s festival at Snow Hinton Park drew in over 16,000 visitors.
“We are grateful to the City of Tuscaloosa for their commitment to Kentuck and the arts,” said Exa Skinner, Executive Director of Kentuck Art Center and Festival. “This 15-year partnership reflects the strength of our collaboration, and we look forward to watching it grow in the years ahead. Together, we will continue bringing a world-class festival to the citizens of West Alabama and to visitors from across the nation.”
This year’s festival will take place on October 11 and 12 at Snow Hinton Park.
