City of Tuscaloosa Holds YMCA Pickleball Courts Ribbon Cutting
June 5, 2025
The City of Tuscaloosa held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new YMCA Pickleball Courts on Thursday, June 5, at 9 a.m.
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox, Councilor Lee Busby and YMCA of Tuscaloosa CEO Jeff Knox spoke during the event.
"The YMCA of Tuscaloosa is an organization that consistently meets a standard of excellence that puts our constituents first," said Mayor Walt Maddox. "The YMCA doesn't deliver promises like so many, they deliver services that matter—and the City is proud to be a partner in that mission."
The two new ADA-accessible pickleball courts feature enhanced lighting and security cameras.
"The team Jeff Knox has put on board has been phenomenal and none of this would be here without that team," said Councilor Lee Busby.
"It's always special when an idea becomes reality—especially one that promotes fellowship and healthy lifestyles," said Jeff Knox. "We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with the City as it allows us to impact more and more of the Tuscaloosa community."
The new courts are located at 2300 13th Street, outside of the downtown YMCA of Tuscaloosa.
