A City of Tuscaloosa business license is required for every business based in or operating in the City of Tuscaloosa’s city limits or police jurisdiction. This includes businesses that do not have a physical presence in our jurisdiction, but enter it to conduct business. With the exception of a few flat rate licenses, annual business license fees vary according to business type and are based on your gross receipts. For businesses located within our jurisdiction, this would include all gross receipts, regardless of where the work takes place. For all businesses located out of our jurisdiction, but entering it to conduct business, this would include all gross receipts earned within our jurisdiction.
